Welcome to my blog, dear visitor!

You want to dive into a student’s world inspired by discovering different cultures, meaningful encounters and professional learning about destinations' development?

Perfect - visiting my blog is your best choice!

You are following the stories of a 24-year-old German girl: Inga Marie Kludzeweit. I was born and raised in Duesseldorf (Germany), where I spent most of my life so far. Nevertheless, spending vacation travelling with my family and friends was always part of it. After graduating from school, I could take the opportunity to work & travel through Australia. This experience set the course for the decision to turn my passion into career. So came, that I recently started studying 'Tourism Destination Management’ (TDM) at NHTV University of Applied Sciences in Breda, the Netherlands. (More Information on what, where and why I am doing, check this).

I noticed quickly, that following my interests and satisfy my ‘Fernweh’ [the painful desire to distant countries] makes me the happiest person in the world. Therefore, I am travelling whenever time and money allows it. You can check my trips & travel inspirations to see where I have been so far.

Enjoying beautiful landscapes and the feeling of freedom and independency, exploring different cultures, habits and food, getting to know new people and their stories – this is the way I love to live my life. For me, travelling is more than relaxing with a cocktail on the beach. To describe it with the words of one of my favourite singers:

“To see the whole thing it’s an opening,
a glimpse in the world you wouldn’t find”
- Charlie Cunningham

“To see the whole thing…” is also the reason why I have chosen to study TDM. Understanding how a destination develops from branding, creating an image, dealing with stakeholders and considering the economic impact helps to create a global picture. Apart from this, I am adopting useful research skills for analysing current situations. Something I really like about this program is the discovery of my personal development.

All this happens in three phases within one year – can you believe that? No, me neither…Until the end of January 2018, I will learn the theoretical background and professional skills during lectures in Breda. During the second phase from February to May 2018, I will put all this into practice at three different locations in Australia and Southeast Asia. The third phase consists of writing a dissertation on a topic of my interest, applying all the knowledge. You can get more detailed information on the program’s organization here.

When you follow me on my blog, you will see regular posts related to travelling and TDM insights.

Come with me on my journey of discoveries and convince yourself that being lost on purpose is a great experience.

Enjoy reading and always keep in mind:

“Wherever you go there you are.”

Yours Inga
